Fluid Change


1. Raise and support vehicle, then position drain pan below transaxle oil pan.

2. Remove front and side oil pan attaching bolts, then loosen rear bolts approximately four turns.

3. Carefully pry pan loose from transaxle case and allow fluid to drain.

4. Remove remaining attaching bolts, oil pan and gasket. Thoroughly clean pan before reinstalling.

5. Remove and discard filter and seal.

6. Lubricate new O-ring seal with assembly lube No. J-3685O or equivalent. Install new filter and O-ring seal with screen located against dipstick stop.

7. Apply GM Threadlocker or equivalent to pan attaching bolts. Install gasket on oil pan, then install pan and attaching bolts. Torque attaching bolts to specifications.

8. Lower vehicle and add proper amount of transaxle fluid.

9. Place gear selector in Park, start engine and operate at slow idle. Do not race engine.

10. Check fluid level and add if necessary. Ensure pan has no oil leaks.
