Starter Motor: Service and Repair

Fig. 3 Starter Motor Replacement. 2.5L/4-151:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle, if necessary.
3. Remove starter motor mounting bolts, then lower the starter motor, Fig. 3.
4. Remove nuts/bolts that hold the starter bracket to the starter and engine.
5. Disconnect starter leads and remove starter from vehicle.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
