Oil Charge

When replacing certain components of an air conditioning system a oil charge must be added to the system to keep the proper level of refrigerant oil in the system. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS/MECHANICAL SPECIFICATIONS/OIL CHARGE DATA TABLE for oil charge specifications.
If the refrigerant charge is abruptly lost due to a large refrigerant leak, approximately three ounces of refrigerant oil will be carried out of the system with the refrigerant. Upon replacement of a component which caused a large refrigerant leak, add three ounces of oil to the system plus the amount required for any component replaced as outlined under SPECIFICATIONS/MECHANICAL SPECIFICATIONS/OIL CHARGE DATA TABLE. If possible, add oil directly to the replacement component.
