Troubleshooting Hints - Memory Seats

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS
1. Check I/P Fuse Block PWR STS Circuit Breaker 3.
2. Check I/P Fuse Block IGN (RUN/CRANK) CHIME CLSTR Fuse 1D, SIG/BU/LP BTSI Fuse 1B, and CTSY/PWR MIR Fuse 6A by visual inspection.
3. If seat motor internal circuit breaker trips, it will not reset until voltage is removed from motor.
4. Check that ground G202 is clean and tight.
5. If the Memory Seat/Mirror Control Module does not enter the Diagnostic Modes:
^ Check for proper grounding with the Memory Seat Diagnostic Connector.
^ Check for an open in CKT 571 (YEL/BLK).
^ Check for proper terminal contact at Memory Seat/Mirror Control Module connector C1 terminal D12.
^ If all OK, replace the Memory Seat/Mirror Control Module.
6. The Memory Seat/Memory Mirror Control Module will not allow more than 3 seat motors to run at one time.
7. If the mirrors do not move or all memory functions are inoperative, check that the mirror switch is in either the LH or RH position and not in an in-between state.
8. Before component replacement, check for poor connections at related component and in-line harness connector terminal connections.
^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause system malfunction but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems.
