Instrument Panel Cluster Replacement

Description:






Remove or Disconnect
^ Disable SIR System. Refer to Disabling the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR).
1 Steering column filler.
2. Lower steering column.
3. Cover top of steering column to prevent scratch damage.
4. I/P cluster trim plate.
5. Instrument cluster fasteners to I/P.
^ Pull right end of cluster rearward, and rotate cluster assembly to face upward.
6. Instrument cluster connector, by reaching around top (UB3) or bottom (U50 or U2F) right side of cluster assembly and depressing locking tab.
^ Pull bottom of cluster assembly rearward. Rotate cluster assembly to face upward.
7, (U50/U2F only, U50 and U2F have 2 connectors) Instrument cluster connector, by reaching around top or bottom of cluster assembly and depressing locking tab.
8. Instrument cluster, remove by sliding toward center of vehicle.

Install or Connect
1. Instrument cluster to I/P. Install facing upward. Slide in from center of vehicle.
^ Rotate cluster to proper position.
2. Instrument cluster connector(s), by reaching around top or bottom of cluster assembly. Check for proper connections, ensure no bent or damaged pins.

Important
^ Do not force connector(s). Use care to align connector(s) before pushing into place. Forcing connector(s) bends pins. Look down back side of cluster from center of vehicle to guide connector(s). A mirror may be used to help align connector if possible.

3. Instrument cluster fasteners to I/P.

Tighten
^ Fasteners to 1.6 Nm (14 lb. in.).

4. I/P cluster trim plate.
5. Remove protective cover from steering column.
6. Raise steering column.
7. Steering column filler.
^ Enable SIR system.
