Converter Hanger Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Support the catalytic converter.
3. Remove the catalytic converter hanger bolts.
4. Remove the hanger from the bracket.





5. Remove the rear axle torque arm bracket nuts.
6. Remove the catalytic converter hanger bracket.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the catalytic converter hanger to the bracket.
2. Install the catalytic converter bracket to the rear axle torque arm bracket.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the rear axle torque arm bracket nuts.
^ Tighten the rear axle torque arm bracket nut to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).





4. Install the catalytic converter hanger bolts.
^ Tighten the catalytic converter hanger bolts to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
5. Remove the support from the catalytic converter.
6. Lower the vehicle.
