Compressor HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
2. Remove the engine mount strut bracket left side.
3. Remove the electric cooling fan.
4. Remove the drive belt.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector at the compressor.




6. Remove the compressor hose assembly at the compressor.




7. Remove one lower mounting bolt.
8. Remove two upper mounting bolts.
9. Remove the compressor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the compressor.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install two upper mounting bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

3. Install one lower mounting bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).




4. Use the new sealing washers (1) in order to install the compressor hose assembly to the compressor.

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).




5. Connect the electrical connector to the compressor.
6. Install the electric cooling fan.
7. Install the engine mount strut bracket left side.
8. Remove the drive belt.
9. Evacuate and charge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
10. Leak test the A/C system. Refer to Leak Testing. Leak Testing
