Endgate Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the endgate trim panel. Refer to Endgate Trim Panel Replacement (Endgate Trim Panel Replacement).
2. Remove the endgate water deflector. Refer to Endgate Water Deflector Replacement (Endgate Water Deflector Replacement).
3. Remove the endgate handle. Refer to Endgate Handle Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the endgate bellcrank. Refer to Endgate Locking Rod Bellcrank Replacement (Endgate Locking Rod Bellcrank Replacement).
5. Remove the endgate latches. Refer to Endgate Latch Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Remove the liftgate latches. Refer to Liftgate Latch Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Remove the endgate lock cylinder. Refer to Endgate Lock Cylinder Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. Remove the endgate weatherstrip. Refer to Endgate Weatherstrip Replacement (Service and Repair).




9. Remove the endgate hinge bolts.




10. Remove the endgate from the vehicle, with an assistant.
11. Remove the endgate wiring harness.
12. Remove the endgate rear panel molding. Refer to Rear Panel Molding Replacement ().

Installation Procedure




1. Align the endgate to the vehicle, with an assistant.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the endgate hinge bolts.

Tighten the endgate hinge bolts to 33 Nm (28 lb ft).

3. Install the endgate rear panel molding. Refer to Rear Panel Molding Replacement ().
4. Install the endgate wiring harness.
5. Install the endgate weatherstrip. Refer to Endgate Weatherstrip Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Install the endgate lock cylinder. Refer to Endgate Lock Cylinder Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Install the liftgate latches. Refer to Liftgate Latch Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. Install the endgate latches. Refer to Endgate Latch Replacement (Service and Repair)
9. Install the endgate bellcrank. Refer to Endgate Locking Rod Bellcrank Replacement (Endgate Locking Rod Bellcrank Replacement).
10. Install the endgate handle. Refer to Endgate Handle Replacement (Service and Repair).
11. Install the endgate water deflector. Refer to Endgate Water Deflector Replacement (Endgate Water Deflector Replacement).
12. Install the endgate trim panel. Refer to Endgate Trim Panel Replacement (Endgate Trim Panel Replacement).
