Scan Tool Data Definitions

8 Digit GM Part Number: The scan tool displays the 8 digit BCM part number for service identification.

A/C Switch: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. The Scan Tool displays Active when air conditioning is requested.

Ambient Light Sensor: The scan tool displays 0.0 - 5.0 volts. The voltage displayed is proportional to the ambient lighting conditions.

Ambient Light Sensor Ref: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive indicating the status of the Ambient Light Sensor reference input.

Auxiliary Lamp Switch: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive indicating the status of the Auxiliary Lamp Switch.

Auxiliary Sensor: The Scan Tool displays Alarm Disarmed/Disabled/Active/Inactive/Armed. Display indicates current sensor status.

Backlight Dimming: The scan tool displays 0 - 100 %. The percentage displayed is proportional to the current amount of backlighting.

Content Theft Deterrent: The Scan Tool displays On/Off. The Scan Tool displays On when the Content Theft Deterrent system is active.

Courtesy Lamp Switch: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. The Scan Tool displays Active when the courtesy lamps are manually requested.

CTD Alarm State: The Scan Tool displays the current Content Theft status.

CTD Enable: The Scan Tool displays Off/Diagnostic/On/Fault. Display indicates Content Theft Deterrent status.

Dimming Switch: The scan tool displays 0.0 - 5.0 volts. The voltage displayed is proportional to the Dimming Switch rotation.

Door Ajar Switches: The Scan Tool displays Open/Closed. Open indicates that at least one of the doors is open.

Door Unlock Switch: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. The Scan Tool displays Active when the appropriate door lock/unlock switch is pressed.

Driver Door Open Sw: The Scan Tool displays Open/Closed indicating the position of the driver door.

Drvr. Door Sensor: The Scan Tool displays Alarm Disarmed/Disabled/Active/Inactive/Armed. Display indicates current sensor status.

Electronics Battery Fd: The Scan Tool displays 0.0 - 25.5 volts. Electronics Battery Fd represents the system voltage measured by the BCM at its battery feed input.

Fog Lamp Switch: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. The Scan Tool displays Active when the operator has requested fog lamp operation.

Headlamp Switch: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. The Scan Tool displays Active when the operator has requested headlamp operation.

High Beam High Level: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. The Scan Tool displays Active when the high beams are On.

High Beam input: The Scan Tool displays 0.0 - 25.5 volts. Displays battery voltage if high beams are On. Displays half of battery voltage if daytime running lamps (DRL) is On. Displays 0 volts when high beams and DRL is Off.

High Beam Low Level: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. The Scan Tool displays Active when the high beams and DRL is Off.

High Beam Medium Level: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. The Scan Tool displays Active when the DRL is On.

Idle Boost: The Scan Tool displays None/Level 1/Level 2/Level 3. The Scan Tool displays None when the charging system does not require additional power from the alternator output.

Ignition 0 (Data): The scan tool displays 0.0 - 25.5 volts. The Ignition 0 voltage represents the system voltage measured at the BCM Ignition 0 feed input.

Ignition 0 (inputs): The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. The Scan Tool displays Active when the ignition switch is in ACCY or RUN positions.

Ignition 1: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. The Scan Tool displays Active when the ignition switch is in RUN or START positions.

Ignition Accessory: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. The Scan Tool displays Active when the ignition switch is in ACCY or RUN positions.

Interior Lamp Defeat Switch: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. The Scan Tool displays Active when the operator disables the courtesy lamps.

Intrusion Sensor: The Scan Tool displays Driver Id Intrusion On/Driver Id Intrusion Off/Switched Intrusion On/Switched Intrusion Off. Display indicates current sensor status.

Key Cylinder Lock Switch: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. Active indicates that the Key Cylinder is in the lock position.

Key Cylinder Unlock: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. Active indicates that the Key Cylinder is in the unlock position.

Key In Ignition: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. The Scan Tool displays Active when the ignition key is inserted into the ignition switch.

LH Lift Glass Ajar Switch: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. Active indicates that the lift glass is open.

Liftgate Ajar Switch: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. Active indicates that the liftgate is open.

Liftgate Key Cyl. Unlk. Sw.: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. Active indicates that the Liftgate Key Cylinder is in the unlock position.

Liftgate Open Switch: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. Active indicates that the liftgate is open.

Liftgate Sensor: The Scan Tool displays Alarm Disarmed/Disabled/Active/Inactive/Armed. Display indicates current sensor status.

Load Shed: The Scan Tool displays None/Level 1/Level 2/Level 3. The Scan Tool displays None when Load Shed does not require conservation of electrical power.

Lock/Unlock Switch: The Scan Tool displays 0.0 - 25.5 volts. The voltage level is determined by the switch function being selected.

Park Brake Switch: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. The Scan Tool displays Active when the parking brake has been pressed.

Park Lamp Monitor: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. Monitors the Park Lamp output of the control module.

Park/Neutral Switch: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. The Scan Tool displays Active when the operator places the vehicle in Park or Neutral.

Parklamp Switch: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. The Scan Tool displays Active when the operator has requested park lamp operation.

Passenger Door Open Sw: The Scan Tool displays Open/Closed indicating the position of the passenger door.

Passenger Door Sensor: The Scan Tool displays Alarm Disarmed/Disabled/Active/Inactive/Armed. Display indicates current sensor status.

Power Mode Sensor: The Scan Tool displays Alarm Disarmed/Disabled/Active/Inactive/Armed. Display indicates current sensor status.

Rear Door Open Switch: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. Active indicates that one or both of the rear doors are opened.

Rear Release Switch: The Scan Tool displays Active/Inactive. The Scan Tool displays Active when the operator has requested lift glass release.
