Caution: When working with any type of glass or sheet metal with exposed or rough edges, wear approved safety glasses and gloves in order to reduce the chance of personal injury.
Important: Before starting the removal procedure for the quarter window crisscross the window with masking tape (3).
When cutting out the window use care not to damage the locators and pins that are attached around the perimeter of the window. The window has four locators (1) around the window and two alignment pins (2) in the front, if the locators are damaged the window must be replaced.
3. Remove the stationary quarter window.
Caution: If a window is cracked but still intact, crisscross the window with masking tape in order to reduce the risk of damage or personal injury.
4. Using a sharp utility knife, make a preliminary cut around the perimeter of the stationary window.
Important: Keep the cutting edge of the tool against the window. Do this from inside the vehicle.
5. This will allow the urethane adhesive to be separated from the window.
* Leave a base of urethane on the pinchweld flange.
* The only suitable lubrication is clear water.
* Use the J 24402-A or J 39032 in order to remove the quarter window.
6. With the aid of an assistant, remove the stationary window from the opening.
