Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the injector sight shield.




2. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector.




3. Remove the two TP sensor attaching screws.




4. Remove the TP sensor from the throttle body.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the TP sensor to the throttle body assembly.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




2. Install the two TP sensor attaching screws, using a thread-locking compound on the screws. LOCTITE 262(R), GM P/N 1052624, or equivalent should be used.

Tighten
Tighten the TP sensor attaching screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).




3. Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.




4. Install the injector sight shield.
