Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair

EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CANISTER PURGE VALVE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve electrical connector.
3. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge pipe from the EVAP canister purge valve.
4. Disconnect the vacuum supply hose from the EVAP canister purge valve.

EVAP Purge Valve:




5. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve retaining bolt.
6. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve from the intake manifold.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

EVAP Purge Valve:




1. Position the EVAP canister purge valve on the intake manifold and install the retainer bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the EVAP canister purge valve retaining bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




2. Connect the EVAP canister purge pipe and the vacuum supply hose.
3. Connect the EVAP canister purge valve electrical connector.
