Battery Negative Cable Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the battery.
2. Remove the ground terminal bolt on the wheelhouse.




3. Remove the battery cable clip from the accumulator bracket.




4. Remove the negative cable nut at the engine block stud.
5. Remove the negative cable from the engine block stud.
6. Remove the negative cable from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the negative cable to the vehicle.
2. Install the negative cable onto the engine block stud.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the negative cable nut to the engine block stud.

Tighten
Tighten the negative cable nut to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).




4. Install the battery cable clip to the accumulator bracket.




5. Position the ground lead.
6. Install the ground terminal bolt to the wheelhouse.

Tighten
Tighten the ground terminal bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

7. Install the battery.
