Brake Fluid Level Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

Master Cylinder Fluid Level Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Disconnect low brake fluid sensor electrical connector (2) from the sensor (1).





Important: If the sensor is being replaced, remove and replace the sensor float from within the master cylinder reservoir.

2. Using needle nose pliers, remove the sensor (2) from the reservoir (1) by squeezing the outer tangs together and removing the sensor by hand.

Installation Procedure





1. Insert the low brake fluid sensor (2) and float sensor if removed, into reservoir (1) cavity.
2. Ensure that the sensor is fully seated to the master cylinder by attempting to pull the sensor outward.





3. Connect the low brake fluid sensor electrical connector (2) to the sensor (1).
