Ignition Control Module: Service and Repair

IGNITION CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the air cleaner outlet from the air cleaner.
2. Remove the ICM electrical connectors (1) and spark plug wires (2).
3. Remove the ignition coils bolts (3).
4. Remove the ignition coils and ICM assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the ICM assembly.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the ignition coils.

Tighten
Tighten the ignition coils bolts (3) to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

3. Reinstall the spark plug wires (2) and ICM electrical connectors (1).
4. Reinstall the air cleaner outlet duct to the air cleaner.
