Hinge Replacement - Lift Gate (Aztek)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the liftgate. Refer to Lift Gate Replacement (Rendezvous) (Lift Gate Replacement (Rendezvous))Lift Gate Replacement (Aztek) (Lift Gate Replacement (Aztek)) .




2. Mark the location of the liftgate hinges with a grease pencil.
3. Remove the nuts from the lifgtate hinges.

Important: Mark the location of the shims right and/or left for reinstallation.


4. Remove the liftgate hinges with the shims and seals from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the liftgate hinges with the shims and seals to the location marks on vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the nuts to the lifgtate hinges.

Tighten the liftgate hinge nuts to 33 N.m (28 lb ft).

3. Install the liftgate. Refer to Lift Gate Replacement (Rendezvous) (Lift Gate Replacement (Rendezvous))Lift Gate Replacement (Aztek) (Lift Gate Replacement (Aztek)) .
