Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5.

CAUTION:
- Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.
- Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution in Service Precautions.

2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) compartment.




3. Disconnect the inflator module connector.
4. Remove the I/P nuts from the inflator restraint module.
5. Remove the inflatable restraint module (1) from the I/P.
6. Fully deploy the module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Inflator Module Handling and Scrapping.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the inflatable restraint module (1) to the I/P.
2. Install the I/P nuts to the inflatable restraint module.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Connect the inflatable restraint module connector.
4. Install the instrument panel (I/P) compartment.
5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5.
