Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5.

CAUTION:
- Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.
- Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution in Service Precautions.


2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) compartment.
3. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the inflatable restraint I/P module yellow 2-way connector (2).
4. Disconnect the inflatable restraint I/P module yellow 2-way connector (2).
5. Disconnect the module harness from the from the fuse block bracket.
6. Remove the inflatable restraint I/P module screws (3).
7. Remove the inflatable restraint I/P module (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Make sure the module harness is routed correctly. Install the inflatable restraint instrument panel (I/P) module (1).
2. Install the screws (3) that secure the inflatable restraint I/P module.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.


Tighten
Tighten the screws to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Connect the module harness to the fuse block bracket.
4. Connect the inflatable restraint I/P module yellow 2-way connector (2).
5. Install the CPA to the inflatable restraint I/P module yellow 2-way connector (2).
6. Install the I/P compartment.
7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5.
