ROOF SIDE RAIL LAMP REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Using a small flat bladed tool, open the assist handle covers.
2. Remove the screws from the assist handle.




3. Remove the assist handle.




4. Remove the side rail lamp base plate.

IMPORTANT: The plastic retainers to the side rail lamp base plate might drop out. Note the location of the retainers.

5. If necessary, pull the service loop loose from the glue.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the side rail lamp.




7. Slide the lamp socket from the base plate.




8. Remove the bulb if necessary.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the bulb if necessary.
2. Install the lamp socket to the base plate.




3. Connect the electrical connector to the side rail lamp.
4. If necessary, install the service loop to the glue using foam tape.




5. Align the lamp base plate to the plastic retainers.




6. Position the assist handle to the base plate and the plastic retainers.




7. Install the screws to the assist handle.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

8. Close the assist handle covers by pressing the covers into place until fully seated.
