Hood Latch Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Open the hood.
2. Mark the hood latch to the hood latch support bracket with a grease pencil.




3. Remove the nuts from the hood latch.

Important: Do not crimp the hood latch release cable.






4. Disconnect the hood latch release cable from the hood latch by squeezing the hood release cable retainer.
5. Remove the hood latch from the hood latch support bracket.



Installation Procedure






Important: The hood latch release cable must be connected to the hood latch support bracket.


1. Install the hood latch release cable to the hood latch.
2. Align the hood latch to the marks on the hood latch support bracket.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the nuts to the hood latch.

Tighten the hood latch nuts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

4. Adjust the hood, if required. Refer to Hood Adjustment (Adjustments) .
5. Close the hood.
