Endgate Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the endgate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Endgate (Trim Panel Replacement - Endgate) .
2. Remove the endgate water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Endgate (Water Deflector Replacement - Endgate) .
3. Remove the endgate handle. Refer to Handle Replacement - Endgate (Handle Replacement - Endgate) .
4. Remove the endgate bellcrank. Refer to Bellcrank Replacement - Endgate (Bellcrank Replacement - Endgate) .
5. Remove the endgate latches. Refer to Latch Replacement - Endgate (Service and Repair) .
6. Remove the liftgate latches. Refer to Latch Replacement - Liftgate (Aztek) (Service and Repair) .
7. Remove the endgate lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Endgate (Service and Repair) .
8. Remove the endgate weatherstrip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Endgate (Service and Repair) .




9. Remove the endgate hinge bolts.




10. Remove the endgate from the vehicle, with an assistant.
11. Remove the endgate wiring harness.
12. Remove the endgate rear panel molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Rear Panel () .



Installation Procedure





1. Align the endgate to the vehicle, with an assistant.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the endgate hinge bolts.

Tighten the endgate hinge bolts to 33 N.m (28 lb ft).

3. Install the endgate rear panel molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Rear Panel () .
4. Install the endgate wiring harness.
5. Install the endgate weatherstrip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Endgate (Service and Repair) .
6. Install the endgate lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Endgate (Service and Repair) .
7. Install the liftgate latches. Refer to Latch Replacement - Liftgate (Aztek) (Service and Repair) .
8. Install the endgate latches. Refer to Latch Replacement - Endgate (Service and Repair)
9. Install the endgate bellcrank. Refer to Bellcrank Replacement - Endgate (Bellcrank Replacement - Endgate) .
10. Install the endgate handle. Refer to Handle Replacement - Endgate (Handle Replacement - Endgate) .
11. Install the endgate water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Endgate (Water Deflector Replacement - Endgate) .
12. Install the endgate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Endgate (Trim Panel Replacement - Endgate) .
