Seat Back Heater Element Replacement - Front

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front bucket seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Bucket (Seat Replacement - Bucket) .
2. Remove the back from the front seat. Refer to Seat Back Replacement - Front (Seat Back Replacement - Front) .
3. Remove the headrest. Refer to Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat (Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat) .
4. Remove the armrest. Refer to Armrest Replacement - Front Seat (Service and Repair) .




5. Separate the J-hook retainer at the bottom of the seat back cover.




6. Position the cover end flaps for access.
7. Remove the side air bag from the front seat. Refer to one of the following procedures:

* Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Module Replacement - RH
* Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Module Replacement - LH





8. Separate the seat back cover from the front retainer at the side impact airbag.




9. Separate the seat back cover from the rear retainer at the side impact airbag.
10. Separate the hook and the loop retainers securing the seat back cover to the pad.




11. Remove the seat back cover by pulling the cover up and over the pad.




12. Remove the hog rings which secures the cover to the pad.
13. Remove the cover from the pad.
14. If the cushion is damaged, replace the cushion.
15. Remove the seat back heater element.



Installation Procedure

1. Install the seat back heater element.




2. Install the front seat back cover. Align the marks on the cover and the pad.
3. Install the hog rings from the cover to the pad.
4. Install the cover over the pad while aligning the hook and the loop retainers.
5. Install the hook and the loop retainers, securing the cover to the pad.




6. Install the cover to the front retainer at the side impact airbag.




7. Install the cover to the rear retainer at the side impact airbag.
8. Install the side air bag to the front seat. Refer to one of the following procedures:

* Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Module Replacement - RH
* Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Module Replacement - LH





9. Install and adjust the cover to the side air bag retainer, by pressing in and pulling down on the cover.




10. Reposition the end flap to the seat back cover.




11. Install the J-hook retainer at the bottom of the seat back cover.
12. Install the back to the front seat. Refer to Seat Back Replacement - Front (Seat Back Replacement - Front) .
13. Install the headrest. Refer to Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat (Head Restraint Replacement - Front Seat) .
14. Install the armrest. Refer to Armrest Replacement - Front Seat (Service and Repair) .
15. Install the bucket seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Bucket (Seat Replacement - Bucket) .
