Oil Deflector Replacement
Crankshaft Oil Deflector ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Remove the oil pan.
2. Remove the crankshaft oil deflector nuts.
3. Remove the crankshaft oil deflector.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the crankshaft oil deflector.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the crankshaft oil deflector nuts.
Tighten the crankshaft oil deflector nuts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the oil pan.
Oil Pump Drive Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the upper intake manifold.
2. Disconnect the fuel feed and return pipe from the fuel injector rail.
3. Remove the oil pump drive clamp bolt.
4. Remove the oil pump drive clamp.
5. Remove the oil pump drive.
Installation Procedure
1. Apply prelube GM P/N 1052365 or the equivalent to the oil pump drive gear.
2. Apply engine oil to the oil pump drive gear assembly for ease of assembly.
3. Install the oil pump drive gear assembly.
4. Install the oil pump drive gear clamp.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
5. Install the oil pump drive gear clamp bolt.
Tighten the oil pump drive gear clamp bolt to 36 Nm (27 ft. lbs.).
6. Connect the fuel feed and return pipe to the fuel injector rail.
7. Install the upper intake manifold.
Camshaft Rear Bearing Hole Plug Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the engine flywheel.
2. Remove the camshaft rear bearing hole plug.
Installation Procedure
1. Coat the camshaft rear bearing hole plug with sealer. Use sealer GM P/N 12345493 or equivalent.
2. Use an impact wrench socket and a hammer in order to install the camshaft rear bearing hole plug.
3. Ensure that the camshaft rear bearing plug is installed to specifications.
4. Install the engine flywheel.
Throttle Body Heater Hose Replacement - Inlet

- J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the air cleaner duct.
2. Remove the throttle cable bracket in order to gain access to the throttle body heater hose clamp.
3. Drain the coolant until the coolant level is below the throttle body heater hoses.
4. Use the J 38185 in order to remove the hose clamp.
5. Remove the throttle body heater inlet hose.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the throttle body heater inlet hose.
2. Use the J 38185 in order to install the hose clamps.
3. Install the throttle cable bracket.
4. Fill the cooling system.
5. Install the air cleaner duct.
Throttle Body Heater Hose Replacement - Outlet

- J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the air cleaner duct.
2. Drain the coolant until the coolant level is below the throttle body heater hoses.
3. Use the J 38185 in order to remove the hose clamp.
4. Remove the throttle body heater outlet hose.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the throttle body heater outlet hose.
2. Use the J 38185 in order to install the hose clamps.
3. Fill the cooling system.
4. Install the air cleaner duct.
Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
2. Remove the air baffle bolts.
3. Remove the air baffle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the air baffle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the air baffle bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
3. Lower the vehicle.
