Blower Motor Resistor: Service and Repair

BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the RH lower instrument panel (I/P) insulator panel.
2. Disconnect the wiring harness electrical connector (2) from the blower motor resistor (4).
3. Remove the resistor retaining screws (3).
4. Remove the blower motor resistor from the HVAC unit (1).

Installation Procedure





1. Install the blower motor resistor (4) to the HVAC unit (1).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the resistor retaining screws (3).

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 Ib in).

3. Connect the wiring harness electrical connector (2) to the blower motor resistor.
4. Install the RH lower I/P insulator panel.
