Lock Replacement - Rear Door
LOCK REPLACEMENT - REAR DOORREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the rear door trim panel.
2. Remove the rear door water deflector.
3. Remove the inside door handle.
4. Remove the rear door lock screws (1, 2, 3).
5. Remove the rear door outside handle.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector to the power lock.
7. Pivot the outside edge of the door lock forward and remove the door lock rod (1).
8. Pivot the door lock in the opposite direction and remove the inside handle rod (2).
9. Remove the door lock.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the lock in the rear door.
2. Pivot the outside edge of the door lock rearward and connect the inside handle rod (2).
3. Pivot the opposite way and connect the door lock rod (1).
4. Connect the electrical connector to the power lock.
5. Install the rear door outside handle.
6. In the sequence shown (1, 2, 3), install the rear door lock screws.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten
Tighten the rear door lock screws to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
7. Install the inside door handle.
8. Install the rear door water deflector.
9. Install the rear door trim panel.
