IGNITION CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect all the electrical connectors at the ignition control module (ICM)
2. Note the position of spark plug wires for installation and disconnect the spark plug wires from the ignition coils.
3. Remove the screws securing the coil assemblies to the ICM.
4. Disconnect the coils from the ICM.
5. Remove the ICM from the bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the ICM on the bracket.




2. Install the coils to the ICM.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 4.5 N.m (40 lb in).

4. Connect the spark plug wires as noted during removal.
5. Connect the electrical connectors to the ICM.
