Refrigerant Pressure Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair

AIR CONDITIONING (A/C) REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Disconnect the A/C refrigerant pressure switch electrical connector (1).
3. Remove the A/C refrigerant pressure switch (2). Use a second wrench to hold the switch mount to avoid bending the liquid line.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

IMPORTANT:
- Use new O-rings lubricated with 525 viscosity mineral oil.
- Hold the A/C refrigerant pressure switch mount with an open end wrench to avoid bending the liquid line.




1. Install the A/C refrigerant pressure switch (2).

Tighten
Tighten the A/C refrigerant pressure switch (2) to 10 N.m (7.0 lb ft).

2. Connect the A/C refrigerant pressure switch electrical connector (1).
3. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
4. Operate the A/C system and check for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing.
