Coolant Heater Cord Replacement



Coolant Heater Cord Replacement (LA1)
Removal Procedure





Important: The strap that secures the coolant heater cord to the diagonal brace is reusable. Do NOT cut this strap in order to remove it.

1. Press the coolant heater strap retainer tab in order to remove coolant heater cord strap.
2. Use wire cutters in order to remove the remaining coolant heater cord straps from the engine wiring harness.
3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.





4. Use wire cutters in order to remove the 3 coolant heater cord lower straps (1) from the engine wiring harness.
5. Remove the right front wheel.
6. Remove the right engine splash shield.





7. Remove the engine coolant heater cord from the engine coolant heater.
8. Remove the engine coolant heater cord.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the engine coolant heater cord to the engine coolant heater.

Notice: The heater cord must not touch the engine, hot pipes, manifold, or any moving parts. Route the cord to the left front of the engine compartment securing with tie straps as necessary to prevent damage.

2. Properly route the coolant heater cord.





3. Install new tie straps (1) in order to secure the coolant heater cord to the engine wiring harness.
4. Install the right engine splash shield.
5. Install the right front wheel.
6. Lower the vehicle.





7. Install the reusable strap in order to secure the coolant heater cord to the diagonal brace.
