Camshaft Cover Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator.
2. Reposition the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose clamp.
3. Remove the PCV hose from the cover.
4. Disconnect the intake (1) and exhaust (2) camshaft position actuator solenoid valve electrical connectors.
5. Remove the engine harness clip (1) from the cam cover.
6. Remove the engine harness bracket bolt.
7. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve electrical connector (1).
8. Remove the engine harness clip (2) from the EVAP purge solenoid bracket.
9. Remove the engine harness clips (3, 4) from the cam cover.
10. Remove the ignition coils.
11. Remove the camshaft cover bolts.
12. Remove the camshaft cover.
Installation Procedure
1. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
Install the camshaft cover and bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
2. Install the ignition coils.
3. Install the engine harness clips (3, 4) to the cam cover.
4. Install the engine harness clip (2) to the EVAP purge solenoid bracket.
5. Connect the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve electrical connector (1).
6. Install the engine harness bracket bolt.
Tighten the bolt to 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.).
7. Install the engine harness clip (1) to the cam cover.
8. Connect the intake (1) and exhaust (2) camshaft position actuator solenoid valve electrical connectors.
9. Install the PCV hose from the cover.
10. Position the PCV hose clamp.
11. Install the air cleaner outlet resonator.
