Battery Negative Cable Replacement
Removal Procedure





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable (1).
2. Remove the negative battery cable ground nut (4) at the side rail stud.
3. Remove the negative battery cable terminal (3) from the stud.





4. Remove the negative battery cable ground bolt.
5. Remove the negative battery cable from the engine.





6. Remove the negative battery cable ground nut (1) at the bussed electrical center (BEC) stud.
7. Remove the negative battery cable terminal from the BEC stud.
8. Remove the negative battery cable clips (4) from the wheelhouse liner.
9. Remove the battery cable clip bolt (3).
10. Remove the negative battery cable out through the engine wiring harness junction block bracket.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the negative battery cable. Route the cable through the engine wiring harness junction block bracket to battery, main side rail, and BEC.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the battery cable clip bolt (3).
Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
3. Install the negative battery cable clips (4) to the wheelhouse liner.
4. Install the negative battery cable terminal from the BEC stud.
5. Install the negative battery cable ground nut (1) at the BEC stud.
Tighten the nut to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).





6. Position the negative battery cable to the engine.
7. Install the negative battery cable ground bolt.
Tighten the bolt to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).





8. Install the negative battery cable terminal (3) to the stud.
9. Install the negative battery cable ground nut (4) at the side rail stud.
Tighten the nut to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
10. Connect the negative battery cable (1).
