Strut Assembly Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the 3 upper strut mount bolts.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
4. Remove the brake hose bracket bolt from the strut assembly.
5. Remove the stabilizer link nut and separate the link from the strut assembly.
6. Remove the lower strut bolts and nuts. Discard the bolts and nuts.
7. Remove the strut assembly from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
1. Position the strut assembly to the vehicle.
2. Install the 3 upper strut mount bolts.
Tighten the upper strut mount bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
3. Install the lower strut bolts and nuts.
Tighten the bolts and nuts to 180 N.m (133 lb ft).
Important: Inspect the stabilizer link seals for damage prior to installation. Replace as required.
Important: Do not allow the stabilizer link ball stud to rotate while installing the link nut.
4. Position the stabilizer link to the strut and install the nut.
Tighten the nut to 65 N.m (48 lb ft).
5. Position the brake hose bracket to the strut assembly and install the bolt.
Tighten the brake bracket bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
6. Install the wheel and tire.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Perform a wheel alignment. Refer to Measuring Wheel Alignment.
