Variable Valve Timing Actuator: Service and Repair



Camshaft Position Actuator Magnet Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
3. Remove the engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the engine mount bracket, if equipped with a convertible top. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement (Coupe) (Service and Repair)Engine Mount Bracket Replacement (Convertible) (Service and Repair) .
5. Disconnect the camshaft position actuator magnet electrical connector.




6. Remove the camshaft position actuator magnet bolts.
7. Remove the camshaft position actuator magnet and O-ring seal.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the camshaft position actuator magnet O-ring seal and magnet.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .


2. Install the camshaft position actuator magnet bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).





3. Connect the camshaft position actuator magnet electrical connector.
4. Install the engine mount bracket, if equipped with a convertible top. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement (Coupe) (Service and Repair)Engine Mount Bracket Replacement (Convertible) (Service and Repair) .
5. Install the engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
7. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Service and Repair) .
