Stop Lamp Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the instrument panel lower left trim plate assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (LHD) (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement (Service and Repair) .




3. Disconnect the brake pedal position sensor electrical connector (1).
4. Remove the brake pedal position sensor to brake pedal bracket retaining bolt (4).
5. Disengage the brake pedal position sensor locating tab (3) from the brake pedal bracket (2).
6. Remove the brake pedal position sensor (5).



Installation Procedure





1. Connect the brake pedal position sensor electrical connector (1).
2. Align the brake pedal position sensor (5).
Engage the brake pedal position sensor locating tab (3) to the brake pedal bracket (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

3. Install the brake pedal position sensor to brake pedal bracket retaining bolt (4).

Tighten the bolt to 3 N.m (26 lb ft).

4. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Install the instrument panel lower left trim plate assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side (LHD) (Service and Repair) .
6. Calibrate the brake pedal position sensor (5). Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration (Programming and Relearning) .
