Oil Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair



Engine Oil Pressure Sensor and/or Switch Replacement

Tools Required

J 41712 Oil Pressure Sensor Socket


Removal Procedure

1. Turn the ignition OFF.
2. Remove the left hand engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair) .




3. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector (1).





Important: A small amount of oil will drain out of the oil filter housing when the oil pressure sensor is removed. Use a shop towel to absorb the oil.


4. Use the J 41712 in order to remove the oil pressure sensor (1).



Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

1. Use the J 41712 in order to install the oil pressure sensor (1).

Tighten the oil pressure sensor to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).





2. Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector (1).
3. Install the left hand engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair) .
