Valve Rocker Arm Cover Removal - Right Side





1. Remove the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor bolt (504), the clip (505), and the sensor (506) from the upper intake manifold.
2. Remove the heater outlet pipe hose clamp and hose from the pipe.
3. Remove the heater outlet pipe nuts and bolt (310, 311, 318) from the upper intake manifold.
4. Remove the heater outlet pipe (309).




5. Remove the fresh air tube and the wire harness retaining bolt (557).
6. Remove the ignition module nuts (702) and bolts (703).
7. Remove the ignition module with the ignition wires attached (700).
8. Remove the ignition module studs (701).
9. Remove the PCV fresh air tube (529).





Notice: Valve rocker arm cover gasket and sealant must be carefully trimmed away from lower intake manifold gasket. Failure to do so will damage the lower intake manifold gasket, causing a severe oil leak.


Important: When removing the valve rocker arm cover make sure the gasket stays in place attached to the cylinder head.


10. Remove the valve rocker arm cover bolts.
11. Remove the valve rocker arm cover.




12. Trim valve cover gasket and sealant away from lower intake manifold gasket at the cylinder head to lower intake manifold joints (1).
13. Remove the valve rocker arm cover gasket.
