Removal and Replacement




Throttle Body Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Do not use solvent of any type when cleaning the gasket surfaces on the intake manifold and the throttle body assembly, as damage to the gasket surfaces and throttle body assembly may result.

Use care in cleaning the gasket surfaces on the intake manifold and the throttle body assembly, as sharp tools may damage the gasket surfaces.




1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement).
3. Disconnect the electronic throttle control (ETC) electrical connector (2).




4. Remove the heater inlet and outlet pipe nuts (1).
5. Remove the heater inlet and outlet pipe bracket from the throttle body studs. Reposition the pipes.
6. Remove the throttle body bolts/studs.
7. Remove the throttle body.
8. Remove the throttle body gasket.

Installation Procedure




1. Install a new gasket, if necessary.
2. Install the throttle body.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the throttle body bolts/studs.

Tighten the bolts/studs to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

4. Position the heater inlet and outlet pipes and install the pipe bracket to the throttle body studs.
5. Install the heater inlet and outlet pipe nuts (1).

Tighten the nuts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




6. Connect the ETC electrical connector (2).
7. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement).
8. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
