Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill-LNF) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (2.4L LE5) (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (6) from the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor.




3. Remove the ECT.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Install the ECT.

Tighten the sensor to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).




2. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (6) to the ECT sensor.
3. Fill the cooling system as needed. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill-LNF) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (2.4L LE5) (Service and Repair).
