Work Procedure
Check Front Brake Hose
^ Lift vehicle
^ Remove both front wheels
^ Check left and right front brake hose for damage
^ Replace hose if necessary
The front brake hoses on all vehicles involved must be fitted with a spiral guide as follows:
^ Push cable guide clips for brake wear indicator towards brake caliper.
^ Install spiral guide onto brake hose by simply turning spiral guide until properly seated.
^ Reinstall brake wear indicator guide clips.
All brake hoses after installation of spiral guide must be checked for proper routing as follows:
^ Position steering to straight forward direction.
^ Measure distance "X" as per illustration 1. Distance must be 40 to 72 mm.
^ If measurement exceeds proper distance and is between 72 to 120 mm use pliers to reposition brake hose bracket (Illustration 2) until distance "X" measures 40 - 72 mm.
^ If measurement is less than 40 mm, loosen brake hose/line connection, turn hose until distance measures 40 to 72 mm.
^ In the event the measurement should exceed 120 mm, loosen broke hose/line connection, turn hose until distance measures 110 to 120 mm. Then tighten connection and proceed to use pliers to reposition brake hose bracket until distance "X" measures 40 to 72 mm.
Ensure that brake line are properly routed through the body openings (Illustration 3).
Note:
If a brake hose has been replaced or the brake hose/line connection has been loosened, it is imperative that the brake system is properly bled.
