DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING ENGINE / TRANSMISSION

Disconnecting




1. Disconnect wires on starter and backup light switch.
a) Remove cirdip on top for accelerator linkage and disconnect linkage.
b) Unscrew 4 mounting nuts and take transmission off of engine.


Connecting

Note: Lubricate all sliding surfaces of clutch release with a multi-purpose grease containing. MoS2 and teeth of drive shaft with Optimoly HT.




1. Connect release fork while bolting on release bearing.
Check for correct positioning through opening in transmission case.
2. Tighten mounting nuts to torque of 45 Nm (32 ftlb).
