Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Testing and Inspection

CHECKING AND ADJUSTING OFF POSITION OF AIR FLOW SENSOR PLATE

Checking




1. Pull off plug for safety switch on mixture control unit.
Turn on ignition and off again after approx. 10 seconds.
Upper edge of air flow sensor plate must be flush with beginning of cone (relief funnel, top) or max. 0,5 mm higher (strive for lower position).

2. Air flow sensor plate must be level and must not protrude beyond cylindrical section of venturi at any point of its periphery.

Adjusting




An excessively high air flow sensor plate can be corrected, This is done by driving down the stop spring guidepin accordingly. using a mandrel and a light hammer.

Note: Adjust very carefully. so that guidepin is not driven too deep. Avoid frequent adjustments in both directions, since pressfit of pin will not hold.
