Distributor: Service and Repair


1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove distributor cap.
2. Set cylinder No. 1 on TDC, compression stroke. Ensure center of rotor tip is aligned with notch in top of distributor housing.
3. Remove rotor and dust cap.
4. Disconnect electrical connections and vacuum hoses.
5. Remove hold-down bolt or nut and distributor.
6. Reverse procedure to install. When installing distributor make sure that rotor tip aligns with cylinder No. 1 mark on distributor housing.
