This bulletin supersedes Technical Bulletin Group 1, Number 9011, dated May 8, 1990 and also Technical Bulletin Group 1, Number 8708, Book D, page 39.
Models Affected: 924S, 944/S/S2/T
Concern: Installation and checking of new type engine mount.
Parts Information: Former version mounts (Figure 1) are no longer available as replacement parts, only the new version (Figure 2) is supplied.
Features of new type mount:
- Newly designed shape.
- Upper mounting surface is 4.0 mm thicker.
- Mount is fastened to engine mounting bracket by two bolts (formerly two bolts with nuts and washers).
- Distance washers used with former version mounts are eliminated.

Repair Information: Right Side:
The new type mount is 4.0 mm thicker than the former version. The 4.0 mm distance washers between the engine mounting bracket and the mount are no longer needed. When installing the new type mount on the right side, do not use the distance washers.
Fasten the mount to the engine bracket using:
2 - M8 x 38 bolts 900 378 024 02
2 - Washers N 015 401 3
Torque bolts to 23 N-m.
Repair Information (cont.): Left Side:
Measure the thickness of the left engine mounting bracket dimension "x" (Figure 3). This determines the correct length bolts to use with the new type mount.
1. Former type and new type mounts may be mixed on an engine.
2. If former type mounts are installed (as from existing stock) the following applies:
Right side - use distance washers Left side - x = 21.0 mm, use distance washers x = 25.0 mm, do not use distance washers
