Engine Speed Sensor: Adjustments

NOTE: The engine speed sensor and the reference sensor are held by the same bracket and the bracket position is changed to adjust the clearance of both sensors. The speed sensor is used to set adjustment, engine reference clearance will be corrected as well.

1. Remove sensor from mount.
2. If an old sensor is available, glue a 0.8 mm (0.03 in.) thickness washer to old sensor.
3. Loosen sensor bracket mounting bolts just enough to make adjustment possible.
4. Slide sensor bracket up or down until washer contacts flywheel teeth.
5. Tighten the bracket mounting bolts.
6. Remove old sensor and replace with new unit.
7. If an old sensor is unavailable, use a soft setting adhesive and remove washer after making adjustment.
