Cruise Control: Description and Operation


The cruise control system (Tempostat E) is an electrically controlled system. On 911 models, the cruise control unit is located below the center instrument panel, near the radio. On 928 models, the cruise control unit is located below the center console. On 944 models, the cruise control unit is located below the lefthand side of the instrument panel. The electric connection is made with a 14-pin connector and an additional coding plug (2), the assembly is covered by a cap. On 911 and 944 models, the electric drive servo is located lefthand side of the engine compartment. On 928 models, the electrical drive servo is located in the rear of the lefthand front fender. The electric drive connection is made with a 6-pin plug. A cable is used as a mechanical connection between the drive and throttle valve.
