Neutral Safety Switch: Service and Repair


1. Disable airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. Place transmission lever in neutral position.
3. Disconnect electrical connections.
4. Remove operating lever retaining bolt.
5. Remove switch mounting bolts.
6. Install switch and mounting bolts.
7. Install operating lever on shaft.
8. Install lugs of driving dog into switch.
9. Install retaining bolt.
10. Install electrical connection.
11. Place transmission lever in neutral position.
12. Loosen adjusting nut.
13. Install 4 mm pin from US8030 tool set through drive dog into locating hole in case.
14. Tighten adjusting screw and remove locating pin.
