Test Point 23 - Fuel Injectors

Terminal Identification:

1. Disconnect injector electrical connector.
2. Connect voltmeter between harness terminal 2 and ground.
3. Turn ignition on.

Battery voltage, proceed to next step.
No battery voltage, check and repair wiring as required. End of test.

4. Connect ohmmeter across terminal 3 of ballast resistor and terminal 2 of each injector.

6 ohms, proceed to next step.
Not 6 ohms, replace ballast. End of test.

5. Connect ohmmeter across injector valve terminals and measure resistance.

2.5 ohms, proceed to next step.
2.5 ohms, replace injector(s). End of test.

6. Using test wires, connect harness terminals to injector.

Fuel Injector Oscilloscope Patterns:

7. Connect oscilloscope to test wires.
8. Start engine and observe scope patterns.
9. If desired patterns cannot be achieved, replace DME control unit. If patterns correct, system normal.
