Acceleration Enrichment Module: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
An acceleration device is provided to operate according to pulse-duty factor, to ensure smooth acceleration even when engine is cold.

Control Units:

CONSTRUCTION
The device consists of:
Oxygen sensor control unit
Acceleration enrichment control unit
95° F (35° C) temperature sensor (located in breather housing in crankcase)
59° F (15° C) temperature sensor (fitted to right timing chain cover)
Throttle switches.

OPERATION
This enrichment feature is effective only at oil temperatures less than 95° F (35° C). As soon as oxygen sensor temperature switches from cold to hot, acceleration enrichment at a pulse-duty factor of 75 % is available for 0.5 seconds within 25 seconds.

At oil temperatures greater than° F (35° C), acceleration enrichment device is controlled for 2 minutes after starting engine to a pulse-duty factor of 75 % for 0.5 seconds when the 0° and 7° switches are opened.

When the 0° switch open, pulse-duty factor is increased to 75 % for 0.5 seconds. The air-fuel mixture is enriched during this period. As 7° switch is passed, mixture is enriched again.
