Data Link Connector: Description and Operation

PURPOSE AND LOCATION
The diagnostic socket is used for communication with the diagnostic functions in the DME control unit.

To check the fault code memory, you must access the diagnostic socket located under right trim cover, in the passenger footwell.


FUNCTION
It is accessed by use of Porsche System Tester 9288 or Porsche Flashing Tester 9268. DME control unit is capable of self diagnosis. In addtion to reading fault memory, it is possible to activate a number of drives and check the function of these components, with both Porsche Testers.
