Transmission Control Systems: Locations







Tiptronic Component location
1 - Brake-light switch Installation position on brake pedal
2 - Selector lever with selector lever switch
3 - Multi-function switch
Installation position on transmission
4 - Temperature sensor, transmission (ATF)
Installation position: The sensor is integrated in the transmission wiring harness. The entire transmission wiring harness must be replaced if the sensor is damaged.
5 - Speed sensor, transmission
Installation position: In the transmission
6 - Solenoid valves
Installation position: On valve chamber in the transmission
7 - Transmission control unit
Installation position: Underneath the left-hand seat
8 - ECM control unit
Installation position: Below the left-hand seat
9 - Kickdown switch
Installation position: In front of the accelerator
10 - Selector lever position and gear indicator
11 - ABS control unit
Installation position: In the luggage compartment (right-hand wheel well)
12 - Warning lamp (restricted driving program)
