Downshift Switch: Service and Repair

Removal

The kickdown switch is installed on a console in front of the accelerator pedal.

1. Remove floor board.

A Self locking Nut

2. Remove kickdown switch with mount, unplug connector and remove switch (pressing the retaining lugs).

Installation

1. Install the parts removed in reverse order.
2. Use new self-locking nut for mount.
3. Place kickdown switch in installation position.
- With the mounting nut loosened, the mount with switch must be pushed until the actuator arm touches the console when the switch is operated.
4. Tighten mount to console to: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lbs.)
